What a powerful time of ministry with Pastor, Evangelist, and Teacher Brian Lee and his wife Kathie. Pastor Brian asks: “Do You Want to Be Made Whole?” Did you know that the fragmented places in your life keep you stuck in the past; unable to move forward.
Ephesians Chapters 1–3 is the greatest book in understanding WHO you are and WHAT God wants you to do in your life. Your power and your potential is great because God says it’s great.
There has been an assignment against you from the time you were born. 99% of what we deal with as adults happened when we were children. Stress can take you back to the pit. Depression is about internalized anger and frustration.
Genesis 1:12 reads, “The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.” Trees produce fruit. Seeds are contained within the fruit. Seeds reproduce itself.
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the spring of life” (Proverbs 4:23) Soil bring out what was resident in the seeds. Seeds will go through the process of transformation. Roots are what is going on under the surface. Don’t let offence take root! Roots represent strength, stability, nourishment, sustenance.
Fruit has cycles: Growth – Death – Seasons. Every season a tree produces fruit, reproducing itself until something breaks the cycle. You will never outgrow your deepest hurt. “As a man things in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7)
Steps to take when dealing with roots of negative emotions:
1) First, we need to look at the why (the root) to understand the fruit. 2) Forgive others and yourself, and 3) Renew your mind.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2, NASB).
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23, NASB).
Self-control is Spirit empowered. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you! Let’s say this out loud.
Renewing Your Mind –
• Interpret your life through the lens of God’s Word and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, rather than trough the lens of your experiences, woundedness, trauma, preference, or the opinions of others.
• Change your thinking – Align your heart, your mind, and the way you speak with the Living Word of The Lord
• Think on these things: “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things” (Philippians 4:8, NASB).
• Praise the Lord – “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is [a]lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, [b]dwell on these things” (Ephesians 5:19-20, AMP).
• Find a friend that will dream with you.
• Discipline yourself to form good habits. Develop Holy habits.
