The Lord Jesus Christ has WON!

Word Meditation Teaching

These were JESUS’ last words before departing from earth as he lay hanging on the cross.

John 19:25-27
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother. When Jesus saw his mother looking at him upon the cross, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, HE said to her “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple he said, “This is your mother.”’ From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

John 19:28-29
Later knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said “I am thirsty.”

John 19:30
When he received the sponge soaked with wine vinegar as his drink, Jesus said “It is finished.” With that he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Luke 23:34
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

Luke 23:42-43 The criminal hanging on the other cross said “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Luke 23:46
“Jesus said, with a loud voice, ” Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”

Mark 15:33–34
At noon darkness came over the land until three in the afternoon. At three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” Which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Where one is positioned, may give you the best perspective!

Two stood nearby at the foot of their Savior’s cross, one received a mother, the other a son. One heard the cry, “I am thirsty”, no one understood, His soul must drink from the bitter wine vinegar that was held in this bucket.

Some gambled for what they thought was valuable; it was not his clothing; it was the one pinned naked on a cross.

Two were hung on either side of Him, one mocked, cursed and spit. Yet the other one looked forgiveness and mercy in the eyes of Jesus, while hearing these words “this day you will be with me in paradise.”

Many heard the words,” Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Most laughed, few cried, others just watched!”

Only one voice pierced the sky, “My God, my God why have you forsaken me!”

The Savior of the world’s life was not taken from Him, it was given. “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”

All experienced the darkness, that fell that day. The quaking of earth, the splitting of the ground, the graves exploding, the curtain torn. All of that ,came with the last words spoken on the cross, “It is finished!” As the enemy looked on, no need of a rematch.

The Lord Jesus Christ has WON!

Trust in the Goodness and Faithfulness of our God.
