“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!” (Psalm 150:6).
One of my favorite stories in Scripture is in the book of 2 Chronicles 20. Jehoshaphat and his people were under attack from a vast army. Jehosphaphat cried out to the Lord. “O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”
Jehoshaphat is a man of God. He sought God for direction. Then he led as he believed God had instructed: “…all the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord.” When the people of Judah did not know what to do, they kept their eyes on God and stood. After the people stood before their Lord, the Lord began to speak through a man named Jahaziel.
He told them: “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s… Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you… Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.”
Then Jehoshaphat bowed with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah fell down in worship before the LORD. Early the next morning the king and his men went out to face the army. Jehoshaphat appointed men to go before them singing praises to God. Then AS THEY BEGAN TO SING, the Lord set AMBUSHES against the invading army and they were defeated.
WHAT BATTLES ARE YOU FIGHTING THAT ARE TOO BIG FOR YOU? YOU NEED GOD TO GIVE HIS BATTLE PLAN. So many times Satan wants to get us discouraged, defeated, and He steals and robs from us, but let’s go to the enemy’s camp and take back what he stole from us. Let’s decree and declare that he is defeated and is under our feet! “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might… STAND STILL AND SEE THE SALVATION OF OUR GOD!”
