Dr. Elizabeth Enns
Written by Sue Sanders
Celebrate was a word spoken over our gathering today. Celebration began before we entered the fellowship hall as various attendants greeted us. The fellowship hall was festive and inviting, the breakfast delicious, and the fellowship among guests and team members rewarding. As we embraced each other, we felt His embrace and welcome as well. After Joyce Sanders shared announcements, James played a video about the upcoming training meetings with Ed and Patty Garner from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Gail Timmons, Renee Adrian, and Dalana Barnett shared testimonies of the impact that a previous conference at the Garner’s church had on their lives. They experienced the hands-on ministry and received tools to change not only their lives but others’ as well. Joyce introduced the speaker and then Dalana Barnett and Burt Couser blew the shofars. Taylor Smith led the Bible confession.
Elizabeth Enns and her ministry team led us in worship. The first song invited the Lord to breathe on us and our souls to awake. We sang out the longings of our hearts: “Awake, my soul. . .resurrect these bones from death to life through You alone. . .Word of God, speak to me.” We looked to God in song two asking for vision to see things like He does, for help and wisdom. We declared our love to the God who is our strength, our shield, our rock forever. We acknowledged our identity as children of God in the next song: “I am chosen, not forsaken. I am who You say I am. You are for me not against me. I am who You say I am . . . Who the Son sets free, oh, is free indeed! I am a child of God, yes, I am. In my Father’s house there’s a place for me. I am a child of God, yes, I am.” We affirmed His goodness in “Reckless Love” singing about the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God that chases us down, fights until we are found, and leaves the ninety-nine. We then raised our hallelujahs so that Heaven invaded the atmosphere. We embraced the invitation of the song to sing a little louder because our weapon is a melody.
After Dalana Barnett read Scripture and prayed an offertory prayer, Wanda Mercer shared an interpretative praise dance to the song “You Know my Name.” She exalted her amazement over God who is her friend—one who counsels and comforts her and makes her new.
Elizabeth Enn’s Scripture focus was I Peter 2: 4, 9. We, the women of God, are a part of the royal priesthood. We are priestess. She sang about the new song that is rising as we walk with Him each day. God is moving in His temple. There is worship on the altar, and Holy fire is igniting our souls. We need to come for a song each day.
Her first point pinpointed that I Peter 2: 9 says, “You also,” and that includes each one of us. You are to be like Jesus. He only did what His Father told Him. We need to remember that we, too, need to “do what the Lord tells us to do.” We so often do tasks that people expect of us, not necessarily ones God has highlighted for us. As we abide in Him, we will experience His peace, love, and authority.
Hebrews 3: 1 tells us to fix our eyes on Jesus. This second point reminds us that we need to be like Jesus, to be priestess.
Point 3 emphasizes that we are temples of God. We are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood. Bethel means house of God. He places His glory over everyone. He places His name, Bethel, and His banner over us.
John 14: 12-14 states that we will do even greater things. Elizabeth pointed out that it works when we connect with the Father. He consecrates us by putting His name on us. She declared, “He sets us apart; therefore, my life is not my own. I was bought with a price, and I am the Lord’s.” We must keep our eyes on Him and not stray to the right or the left. She sang an enthralling song inviting us to go into the throne room. As we stand before the throne, we grasp that there is a place for us. We envision nations and tongues and every tribe holding out their hands to worship God alone. We join with Elizabeth in giving praise and glory to our God. He is the Center of it all, the Shepherd of our souls, our Salvation. The angels are falling as we lay our crowns before Him and cry, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. You are the holy God.” We need to connect with things in Heaven. He desires our partnership. Our purpose is to partner with Him, to bring Heaven down. We need to be willing to be redirected, to be flexible.
She admonished us to remember three things.
- It is imperative to be cleansed. We must constantly be washing ourselves off.
- The Lord has distinct garments to put over you. He wants to dress you. We need to ask the Lord, “How do You want me to look today? How do You want me to present You?” Then, wear the garments the Lord has for you.
- We must be covered, completely drenched in the oil of the Holy Spirit. People will smell the fragrance of the oil of the Holy Spirit on us. It will attract others to us, but some will be repelled by the fragrance of the Spirit.
Elizabeth invited her ministry team to come forward and pray for those who desired prayer. She sang over us encouraging us to connect our hearts to Heaven and go into the throne room of God. She sang, “There will come a day like no other day. . . They cry holy, holy is the Lamb. They cry holy, holy is the Lamb.” Many came forward to seek an impartation of more of God.
Songs invited us into the presence of the Lord today. We raised our hallelujahs. We witnessed the power of song over the atmosphere. It was a weapon against the enemy. We left pumped up with the anointing of the Holy Spirit and determined to sing louder and louder because Heaven comes to fight for us. Our praises will roar up from the ashes; hope will arise because death is defeated, and the King is alive. We will watch the darkness flee. We will keep on singing louder and louder raising our hallelujahs.
