Derrick Fort, pastor of Great Commission Ministries, Lake City, SC shared a powerful message about five important people in the Christmas story… their message, prophesy, and fulfillment. (Luke 1 & 2 and Matthew 2). Many of us received confirmation for all the Lord is birthing in our hearts.
We are not to limit what God can do in our lives for with God ALL things are possible!!! God will make a way for each of us to fulfill His purposes in our lives. Our response like Mary should be: “Be it unto me according to Your Word.”
Mary: “The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you…Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High… Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God… And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word…” (Luke 1:26-37). God will do what He says He will do in your life just as He did for Mary. Stand on the promises He has spoken to you. Our response like Mary should be: “Be it unto me according to Your Word.”
Angels: “In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; 11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:8-10). Just as the angels announced God’s fulfillment in the Christmas story. God says to us: “My plans will be fulfilled in your life.”
Herod: In Matthew 2 we read, an angel “appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to destroy Him. So Joseph got up and took the Child and His mother while it was still night, and left for Egypt. He remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “OUT OF EGYPT I CALLED MY SON. Then when Herod saw that he had been tricked by the magi, he became very enraged, and sent and slew all the male children who were in Bethlehem and all its vicinity, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the magi” (Matt. 2:13-16). Just as Herod’s plan against Jesus did not prosper. God says to us, “No weapon formed against you will prosper.”
Elizabeth: “In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah; and he had a wife from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. They were both righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and requirements of the Lord. But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both advanced in years… an angel of the Lord appeared to him… the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will give him the name John…” (Luke 1:5-13). With God all things are possible! Do not limit what God can do in your life.
Joseph: God’s power is greater than the sin in the world. God will make a way for you to fulfill God’s plan in your life.
Each of you are pregnant with God’s promises. God is saying is there anything too hard for me? Do not limit what I can do, receive! My name is written in your situation, fear not.
