Message by Dr. Peter Wyns

1 Breakthrough - Ocean WaveWhat an anointed and challenging way to begin the New Year—music with our worship team focusing on the joy of the Lord and declaring that “To Worship You We Live” and then Dr. Peter Wyns’s message challenging us to be disciples, not just believers. America, God’s end time nation, reaches out to the poor and stands with Israel. However, America has strayed far from the ways of God. Although America faces judgment, revival is also on the horizon. The church will wake up. Dr. Wyns prophesied this year as one of great blessing for God’s people, an explosion of extraordinary blessings and surprises and people walking in their God-ordained purposes. Dr. Wyns’s message emphasized, “It is not enough to just be a believer. We have to be His disciples.” A disciple is under the discipline of Christ. Through becoming Christ’s disciples, we then become ministers.

In Luke 8:1-3, we discover that there were some women who were helping to support Jesus and His disciples. Jesus specializes in redeeming misfits and corrupt people. However, Joann was the wife of Herod’s administrator. We know that Christ was the respecter of no person; for example, he chose some followers who were in high society, many who were demonized, and even those who were uneducated. Dr. Wyns decreed, “Ladies, you have the key for your children and for the next generation. This is the Year of Amazing Blessings.”

Dr. Wyns explained that America in the last days will face much oppression. Jonah preached 700 years before Christ. America is another type of Jonah. There is a call of God on America just like it was on Jonah. However, America is running from God. She is asleep just as Jonah was asleep in the bottom of the boat. Dr. Wyns called America and the church to repentance, “Wake up, America. Wake up, Church.” The generation of today has no fear of God. We need to remember that God sent the storm that brought judgment on Jonah. Even now God is sending a storm to America. She will endure a terrible time of judgment. Thankfully, God’s people will begin to call on the Lord.

God promised in II Chronicles 7:14 , “If my people who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Dr. Wyns envisioned what happened after Jonah was thrown into the sea and swallowed by the large fish. The story was so astonishing that it was shared throughout the land. Everyone was talking about Jonah. Therefore, when Jonah was vomited up out of the belly of the fish after three days and he traveled to Nineveh, his story had preceded him. When he proclaimed, “This is the Word of the Lord,” the people repented. We anticipate a similar repentance for America after she faces the judgment of the Lord. The church of the nations will be partnering with Israel. Dr. Wyns declared, “Wait to see what God is going to do. International revival of the nations shall come.” Revelation 7:9 excites us, “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”

In Matthew 28:19 Jesus instructed his disciples to go and make disciples of every nation. True disciples do what He says and take up their crosses daily. Our wills and Jesus’ will for us cross. We must lay down our will and take up Jesus’ will. A disciple follows his rabbi or master striving to be like him. The disciples emulated Jesus. They did it Jesus’ way. Jesus told them to go and make disciples. They followed His command and traveled extensively making disciples wherever they went. The disciples and the early church turned the world upside down because they were His disciples. They became His representatives from Heaven.

We as His disciples are representatives of the King of Kings. We must ask ourselves the question, “What thing do I refuse to surrender to God?” For Dr. Wynns, he had to surrender marriage. As a young man, he desired a Christian mate; however, he had to surrender His way to God’s way even if that meant that he would never marry. Dr. Wyns did not miss out on the blessings of the Lord. God gave him a beautiful and Christ honoring mate who has served faithfully alongside him for many years. Dr. Wyns declared, “Disciples don’t miss out. God brings His best.” To the mothers in the audience he decreed, “Mothers will have revival first.”

Matt Wilke and Susan White’s rendition of “The Blood” celebrated the power of the blood and encouraged each one of us as His disciples “to come to tell you He’s alive, to tell you that He dries every tear that falls. So I come to tell you that He saves, to shout and to proclaim that He’s coming back for you.”
