Be Renewed Like The Eagle

Message given by Shelica Daniels

Eagle

Shelica Daniels normally raises us to new heights of worship as she praise dances before the Lord. Saturday her message on the eagle, “Despite It All, I Am Flying Again,” encouraged us to rise up like the eagle and soar. She declared that just as the eagle has to go through the difficult process of molting in order to survive, she herself has gone through a very trying season in her life, and her latter end is greater than her former. During the process of molting, the eagle does not look very good as it sheds off the old and casts it aside.

Shelica compared this process to a recent experience in her own life. The Lord showed her that she could not go forward until she let go of some things that were hindering her. She found that she had not dealt with certain issues in her life, and they were bubbling up, fermenting, and poisoning her life. The eagle goes away into an isolated place to break off his feathers and beak. Shelika admitted that pain had been affecting her, and she had chosen, for a time, to hold onto those negative emotions. She had to let go, swooping those issues and emotions back, and allow herself to rise above them.

How encouraging to know that the other eagles do not ignore or abandon the molting eagle. Instead they fly over the area where the eagle is isolated, hoover over him letting their presence be known, and amazingly drop tidbits of food to the hurting eagle.

Shelica is now flying again. Her praise dance, “Worth” by Anthony Brown,” summed up the essence of her powerful message and expressed the glory of her freedom.

You thought I was worth saving,

So You came and changed my life

You thought I was worth keeping,

So You cleaned me up inside.

You thought I was to die for,

So You sacrificed Your life:

So I could be free,

So I could be whole,

So I can tell everyone I know.
